Dr. Martha Rose

Dr. Martha Rose grew up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and moved to Colorado to pursue her education in Veterinary Medicine (and satisfy her love of the mountains!). She earned a Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, both from Colorado State University. While in school, Dr. Rose gained experience with pets, horses, and livestock, and even dabbled in a little laboratory research. Ultimately, she found her calling in general practice and joined the Horizon team in 2015.

Dr. Rose enjoys internal medicine and surgery. She has volunteered at a Native American spay/neuter clinic and hopes to someday combine her veterinary skills with missionary work in developing countries. She loves to spend time with friends and family, and enjoys hiking, skiing, and snowshoeing. Dr. Rose is active in her church as a Sunday School teacher and musician (she plays the violin).

“Ever since childhood I wanted to work with animals, but I never seriously considered veterinary medicine until I was a senior in college. Apparently my family knew all along I should be a veterinarian, but it took me awhile to realize it! I can’t think of anything more fulfilling that I would rather do.”
